Once again, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has been deemed one of the busiest airports in the world. It’s basically a self-contained city that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year. With all the craziness that happens each day at a sprawling airport, it’s enough to drive a person to drink. Luckily there are plenty of bars and restaurants located throughout the airport where you can take a load off and enjoy an adult beverage.

Bar One
Concourse A

The name says it all. Bar One is a spot where you can go to get your favorite cocktail done just right. If you like martinis, look no further. Bar One specializes in martinis and can make yours as dry or dirty as you like. These bartenders know what they’re doing. Enjoy a seat at the bar, get cozy with your travelling companion at the round tables or stretch those legs by posting up at a high top.

SweetWater Draft House & Grill

This is a great place to stop and grab a beer if you are stuck in Concourse B. SweetWater is Atlanta’s own brew and this spot offers travelers a great variety of flavors and pairings for food of any type. According to the bartender, the bar always has five different SweetWater beers on tap, including one seasonal selection. Ten different varieties are offered in bottle form. Try the 420 Ale or the Georgia Brown. The “Blue” offering has a bit of a blueberry twang to it. This place also makes a mean cheeseburger, so stop by and grab a beer and a burger.

Sam Adams is the “people’s choice” when it comes to beer. It has been brewing quality beer in the northeast since 1984, but really made a marketing push in the 90s to go nationwide. Stop by for a Boston Lager or any of the seasonal selections. The food is pretty good, too. Go light with a salad or fill up with a burger paired with a Honey Porter. Atlanta really is a Sam Adams town, so take a break from the airport crowds while in Concourse C.

One Flew South
Concourse E

If you want to go upscale when you are at the Atlanta Airport, One Flew South is your place. This is also your place for fresh sushi. Match your sushi with any number of cocktails. The menu isn’t huge, but all of the items are quality. The chefs at One Flew South have traveled the world looking for the best recipes to bring back to Atlanta. The result is “Southernational” cuisine– which fits right in throughout Atlanta. Don’t forget to see the extensive wine list.

Chili’s

Chili’s is a universal favorite because the food is always great and the bar knows how to make drinks that keep you coming back. Tasty appetizers are a great way to eliminate that hunger. The chips and queso are always first class. You’ve been to Chili’s a million times, so you know the food and drinks are going to be consistent. Enjoy a beer or cocktail with your meal for a great airport experience.
