Mitch Evans: Super Loss Leaves Superman Speechless

His teammates can support him all they want by saying they didn’t come with their respective A-games on Super Sunday. But the fact that they didn’t doesn’t exonerate Cam Newton from acting like an A-hole after his Panthers fell to the Broncos 16-10 in Super Bowl 50, the NFL’s newly minted MVP sulking his way through all of three minutes with the media before walking off into the Santa Clara night…

Mitch Evans: Dimitroff Endures Thanks To Quinn

Arthur Blank issued the statement, but Dan Quinn made the decision. Thomas Dimitroff remains as Atlanta Falcons General Manager because Quinn deemed it so. That is all there is to it. If Quinn had any reservations about his first year collaborating with Dimitroff, then Blank’s statement would’ve been vastly different…

Mitch Evans: Mark Richt – Nice Guy Who Finished FAR From Last

Richt will certainly get a chance somewhere else, and lickity split if he wants to. Who knows – a change of scenery might end up being the best thing that ever happens to him.

Mitch Evans: Braves Back On The Radar, But Once Again For The Wrong Reason

Nearly six weeks after ending a season in which their greatest achievement was barely avoiding 100 losses, the Braves just couldn’t lay low. Nope, instead of taking some of the cover provided by horrendous football showings at Georgia and Georgia Tech, and waiting to see if…

Mitch Evans: The Sham That Is The ACC

As college football fans, we’ve been treated to a trio of fantastic finishes these last three Saturdays the likes of which we may never see again. Michigan State somehow, someway, running back a botched Michigan punt in the final seconds to steal victory from the jaws of defeat was a “where were you when…” moment that rivaled what we saw from the Auburn-Alabama “Kick-6” play in the Iron Bowl back in 2013…

Mitch Evans: Five Thoughts From The Falcons First Loss Of The Season

We all knew it was going to happen at some point… there was no way humanly possible the Falcons were going to run the table and go undefeated in 2015. The Birds were bound to lose a game at some point, and… let’s all be honest with each other… are we stunned that the first defeat came in the House of Horrors known as the Louisiana Superdome?

Mitch Evans: Richt’s Not Interested In Playing Favorites

Mark Richt doesn’t want to talk about Georgia being the favorite over Alabama. Instead, when asked about his Bulldogs being the pick instead of the Crimson Tide for Saturday’s showdown between the hedges – the […]

Mitch Evans: Top 5 Takeaways From The Falcons 24-20 Win Over The Giants

Pinch yourself, because it’s true: the Falcons have started out the season 2-0. In doing so, they’ve won a pair of close games, and have done so after blowing leads (some things still don’t change) […]

Mitch Evans: Rex Marks The Spot

IK Enemkpali didn’t spend all that much time in the penalty box, did he? Yeah, I know, wrong sport. But the analogy fits for a guy who sucker punched his way off the Jets roster, […]

Forget Vic Beasley. And you can forget Tevin Coleman, Adrian Clayborn, Jalen Collins, Brooks Reed, Justin Hardy, and Leonard Hankerson, too. Just forget any of the new faces the Falcons brought in during an off-season […]
