Bio: Veteran sportscaster and longtime Atlanta resident Mike Sammond can be heard every Saturday from 6pm to 10pm on 92.9 The Game. He also hosts NBA Weekly with Sam Mitchell and Dennis Scott each Sunday from 8pm to 11pm. Mike has been a TV reporter for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) with the Olympic News Channel covering the 2012 Summer Games in London, the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and the 2010 Youth Summer Olympics in Singapore. His television work also includes serving as an anchor at CNN Headline Sports and as sports director at WRBL-TV in Columbus, GA. A University of Georgia graduate, Mike began his award-winning play-by-play career as the voice of the UGA baseball team in 1984. He has spent several years announcing professional baseball at all levels including radio and TV work with the AAA Gwinnett Braves and calling Spring Training games for the Atlanta Braves. His football play-by-play experience includes the Arena Football League and numerous seasons announcing Georgia high school football games. When not talking sports, Mike likes to coach and play sports. He has served as a youth baseball coach in Gwinnett County for many years and enjoys playing tennis, baseball and hockey. In 2007 he co-founded the Georgia SPCA and helped open the organization’s pet adoption center in Suwanee a year later.
