Jon Jeffries
Sports Director / Anchor / Reporter

Working in radio since 1978, Jon has interviewed many top entertainers such as Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen Degeneres, Drew Carey, the late Sam Kinison, and has covered appearances by former presidents Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. He enjoyed playing baseball as a kid, and racquetball as a young adult but now, it’s all golf, golf and more golf. Among his favorite sports experiences, he notes seeing Lou Brock steal a base in a game right before, at that time, breaking the record for the most in a season. He also recalls seeing Bob Gibson get his 3,000th strike-out — then years later, playing golf in Gibson’s celebrity / charity golf tournament, where he got to be in the same room with Gibson and Sandy Koufax. Signature phrase: “Jack of all trades, master of fun!”

The Americans’ want, (need); it bad!

It’s time to tee it up for the Ryder Cup. The one time every other year the U.S., (hopefully); will play for pride and patriotism, especially since the Europeans have kicked our…

Jon Jeffries: ‘Long live The King!’

A somber night for those who play and enjoy the game. You see, golf is a different sport, one that shows true reverence and respect, even if you just picked up a club, for those who came before. Tiger Woods, for whatever reason, if he was unable to play in Arnold’s Bay Hill Invitational would not send a…

The Cup’s not locked up…but…

Finally, we have made it through the first three of the playoffs to whittle the list to 30. Now if you go through the scenarios for the Top 5, it seems like a no brainer. But if you do the math,

Who’ll roll at Baltusrol?

Seems like we just had and wrapped a major, well, we did. Thanks to the Olympics, (which is another blog in itself since most everyone bailed, pack some “Off” gents), the 4th and final for the year is here. Of course, I guess we really shouldn’t blame a lot of the guys. Reason being there’s a lot of golf packed

Tiger Scratched Himself Again!

Tiger Woods firmed up on Tuesday what most already knew, he’ll pass on the PGA Championship at Baltusrol and scrap the rest of 2016. Now if you want to believe his agent, Mark Steinberg, he’s still re-habbing from a…

Will It Be A Monsoon At Royal Troon?

Yes golf fans, it’s time to watch the guys try and hack it out of the weeds and reeds for the British Open, err, excuuuuuse me… The “Open” Championship. I know the Scots created the game, but it’s my least favorite of the majors, who wants to set the alarm clock to get up and flip on the…
