Bio: Jamie Walker is no stranger to covering sports in the Atlanta Metro Area. Since 2002, he has served in many different capacities including blogger, producer, reporter, PA Announcer and color analyst for such entities as Score-Atlanta Newspaper, Corky Kell Classic, WAOK and Clark-Atlanta University. He brings a different perspective and insight especially in covering high school athletics as a current educator and football coach. Walker currently serves as a producer, blogger, and part-time host for Sports Radio 92-9 The Game along with serving as the Audio/Visual Director and football coach at Salem High School. Yes, it is “just” a preseason game but coming off an 8-8 campaign where the expectations were low, then catapulted into the stratosphere due to a 5-0 start, then sputtering into a .500 record…
Sports for me has always been a “feel good” segment in an otherwise crazy world. With all the political happenings and troubles surrounding the world and particularly the United States, sports are a great way to escape and pause.
So now the Atlanta Falcons 2016 NFL Draft is over. The choices were made, the picks are in, and the yea or nay’s have begun. Whether or not you are a fan, pundit, or otherwise, if you cared anything about the team you have something to say. People went into this season and especially this draft knowing what you needed and there are many questions as to were those needs addressed………..
The time is upon us Atlanta Falcons Fans. I always address it as the “2nd Christmas” for really all football fans but it is the time of the year where we trust our hometown “Dirty Birds” have made a good list and checked it more than twice coming off an improved yet incomplete 8-8, 2015 campaign. Yes, folks….It is National Football League Draft Week……..
So now the National Football League has contestants for Superbowl 50, taking place in Santa Clara, California on September 7th. The Denver Broncos will take on the Carolina Panthers in the battle of great defenses and contrasting styles on offense.
So here we are, fresh off a loss to the sports hated New Orleans Saints, dropping our hometown Atlanta Falcons to 8-8 to finish the 2015-16 campaign. This spells a 3rd straight trip out of the postseason for the Dirty Birds but an improved record overall……..
Outside of my duties as producer and blogger duties here at Sports Radio 92.9 The Game, I have been in education and coaching for the past 14 years. I was blessed in June with a new job at Salem High School in Conyers, Georgia where I serve as a teacher along with Varsity Runningbacks Coach……….
