So what is this?
A small luxury car?
A stylish economy car?
A road racer’s everyday driver?
It seems to be a forgone conclusion that in another 5, 10, 15 years, our cars will be driving us instead of the other way around. And they’ll likely be electric…and we may not even own them. We might just hit an app….decide what kind of vehicle we’re in the mood for today….and rent it by the hour, day, week or month.
OK….I’ve rolled my eyes more than once at Matthew McConaughey and his Lincoln commercials over the past few years. And I’m not sure if both he….and a couple of those cars….didn’t deserve it back then.
I was parked next to a guy in a Tesla. He got in and drove off….silently, of course….and all I could think was “Poor guy….his car has no soul.”
If you had to choose just one vehicle to pilot…left arm out the window, hair blowing in the wind, and a cocky grin on your face as you spit into the face of Armageddon…the Raptor just might be it.
Now here’s a name you may not have heard of yet. And no, KIA doesn’t add “Hybrid” to the name. I did. Kia just refers to their new Niro as “A smarter kind of crossover”. I guess “smarter” means a crossover that just happens to get 40 -52 MPG…..or more.
I lived with a Mazda Miata for a week, and then stepped into this Toyota Avalon. What a contrast. The Avalon is sofffft.
Six-Figure Cachet for $30-something K!
If you still think of Lexus as “laid-back luxury”, you might want to get behind the wheel and see what’s new.
KIA completely redesigned their two-row, five-passenger Sportage for ’17, and they went in a little different direction than many of their competitors.
