The action at Philips Arena never stops. The NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream call the arena home, and a special attraction dubbed “the Philips Experience” even allows fans to feel the thrill of victory first-hand; the 10,000-square-foot activity center lets visitors slam dunk into a miniature basketball hoop. Afterward, guests can cool down with a stroll through the HawkWalk, where they’ll find plenty of food, drinks and team merchandise for sale. Philips Arena is also connected to CNN Center, providing easy access to dozens of other stores, restaurants and attractions.

By Car:
The downtown traffic and mazes of one-way streets make a trip to Philips Arena a little tricky by car, but brave commuters can find detailed directions on the arena’s website.

There are plenty of parking decks in the area, including those at adjacent CNN Center and Centennial Olympic Park.

By Train:
Atlanta’s MARTA system is the quickest and easiest way to visit the arena; just take Exit W1 from the westbound line and follow the signs. If you’re traveling north or south, remember to switch trains at the Five Points Station.

By Bus:
Numerous buses stop at the arena, and you can plan your route in advance by checking the online schedule.

You can buy tickets online or at the box office. Children under age two don’t need a ticket for most events, but they must sit on a parent’s lap.

Philips Arena provides an interactive 3D seating chart on its website.

Food and Drink

The concession stands inside the arena serve pizza, sandwiches and a variety of other fan favorites. Headlines Bar & Grill is a sit-down restaurant with a wide range of food options; from here, diners have the choice of watching the game live or on one of 18 big-screen TVs. At CNN Center, connected to Philips Arena by a covered walkway, you’ll find a large food court and more sit-down restaurants, including Don Juan Mexican Cantina and McCormick & Schmick’s.

Philips Arena is close to many downtown hotels in every price range. The Omni Hotel and the Westin Peachtree Plaza offer upscale accommodations, while budget-friendly chains such as Holiday Inn and Days Inn are nearby as well.
