Black Television Shows and How We are Portrayed

The days of positive black television shows such as The Cosby Show, Goodtimes, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, have long passed. However, with the new sitcom Black-ish starring Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Laurence Fishburn, there may be a shift in black programming that could be a symbol of positivity in black television, which could compete with some of today’s popular black reality shows.
