A man is dead, after a violent accident closed down I-20 West for over five hours early in the morning on January 23rd. The deadly crash occurred, on the east-side of 1-20 near the Downtown Connector; when Demetrius Cotton, attempted a U-turn from the eastbound lanes to I-20 West. While at the scene, police recovered a large bag of marijuana and two guns; police stated, that charges have not been filed because they have not found any evidence linking the found property to any of the involved parties.
Cotton was was killed when his vehicle collided head-on with Kyambo Joshua who was driving a Cadillac Escalade SUV. A third vehicle, driven by Jerrell Collins then ran into both of those vehicles. Joshua and Collins were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and it’s being reported they they are in stable condition.
As of date, 63 roadway fatalities have been reported in Georgia this year.
