Thousands of people flooded the Gregory B. Levett Funeral Home in Decatur to show their respects to beloved award-winning news anchor Amanda Davis. Cars stretched down Flat Shoals Road in Decatur Ga for miles. Leaving many to park in surrounding neighborhoods and walk the distance in below freezing weather.
“Beautiful, Kind, Classy and Well Loved were just a few of the words that were repeated as many remembered Davis. Ross Spencer of Fox 5 co-anchored the morning news with Amanda Davis for many years. He had this to say about her; “We were television spouses for 17 years. I loved her, she loved me back, we took care of each other and took our jobs seriously and our friendship seriously. I’m going to miss her forever and I still can’t quite believe it.” His words resonated with so many as they are also still in shock and will miss her deeply.
Davis, died December 27th, 2017 while being hospitalized due to a massive stroke she suffered at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport; while waiting to catch a flight to her stepfather’s funeral. Her funeral is Wednesday, January 3rd at 11 a.m. at Cascade United Methodist Church, 3144 Cascade Road SW, Atlanta. The family has requested no cameras in the church sanctuary.
