Authorities are increasing the reward for any information leading to the three armed men who entered a West-Atlanta wine bar after hours, tied up employees, and forced a manager to open a safe, before shooting and killing her.
The incident took place early Sunday morning at Barcelona Wine Bar in West Midtown.
According to police, the suspects tied up employees with electrical tape then forced 29-year-old Chelsea Beller upstairs to open a safe before shooting her in the shoulder. Beller was then transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Beller had been working at the bar for three years. Friends and family remember her as a fun, loving, and positive person.
“The robbery and murder of an innocent restaurant manager doing her job is a terrible crime,” said Carlos Campos, spokesman for the Atlanta Police Department adding, “Our investigators are working diligently to find those responsible for this crime.”
APD is asking anyone with information to provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers Atlanta, by calling 404-577-TIPS (8477).
The reward for tipsters leading to an arrest and indictment is normally up to $2,000, but has been increased by $5,000 for this case – bringing the potential reward to $7,000.
