Peter King: ‘Offensive Coordinator Change Significant’

Peter King, covers the NFL for the MMQB, joined John and Hugh on Thursday to give us a national perspective of the Falcons as week head into Week 9. King said you now see the value of continuity of a coaching staff; especially with the offensive side of the ball. Changing DC was not nearly as significant as the change made to the OC. Having said that, Steve Sarkisian can’t run somebody else’s offense. King liked the creativity of Kyle Shanahan’s plays week-to-week. This year is showing that Shanahan had a better handle on this offense.

King is also tired of hearing the mantra of being “aggressive.” Sometimes, to win games, you need to approach it as individual games. If one match-up, the run game is working, run it 46 times.
