Atlanta Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk joined The Morning Show with John and Hugh Tuesday to talk about where the team stands. Although they didn’t get a win over the Boston Celtics, Schlenk was pleased with the competitiveness of the group and is starting to see growth.
The win over Cleveland helped in the overall morale by getting a taste of success.
Looking around the league, Schlenk said it appears the trade of Kyrie Irving has seemingly helping the Celtics and appears it’s what Cleveland was missing.
Hawks rookie John Collins is continuing to improve; he has the “desire to be good.”
Schlenk also addressed the Jahlil Okafor rumors that he saw and read Monday. He said he has conversations with every team around the league; “haven’t had any real recently with the 76ers about Mr. Okafor.”
