School Systems Closed For A Third Day From Effects Of Tropical Storm

By the time Hurricane Irma landed in the Atlanta Metro area it was a tropical storm on Monday. Winds were strong enough however, to knock down enough trees to close several streets and cause power outages for hundreds of thousands of residents. Georgia Power xcrews are working around the clock to restore power. Officials want to keep streets clear to allow crews to get to the effected areas. Here is the latest list of schools that will closed on Wednesday in the Atlanta Metro area.

Atlanta Public Schools – Closed Wednesday

Clayton County – Closed Wednesday

Decatur City – Closed Wednesday

DeKalb County – Closed Wednesday

Fulton County – Closed Wednesday

Griffin-Spalding – Closed Wednesday

Gwinnett County – Closed Wednesday

Hall County – Closed Wednesday

Henry County – Closed Wednesday

Newton County – Closed Wednesday

Rockdale County – Closed Wednesday

KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools – Closed Wednesday

 

DeKalb County Employees should report on Wednesday but county facilities are closed to the public.

Rockdale County Government Offices and Courthouse – Closed until further notice due to power outage
