Police have arrested 31-year-old Shatora Jones in connection with the death of 10-year old Sincere Jordan.
Jones is the mother of two children who were present when Jordan was shot on the fourth of July.
According to initial reports, Jordan accidentally shot himself after finding a firearm.
“He did not kill himself,” said Marquita Jordan, Sincere’s mother. She believed her son was shot by someone else.
Now authorities confirm, Jones’ 11-year-old child accidentally fired the shot.
The gun belonged to Jones, but an unidentified man whom police are searching for removed it before authorities arrived on the scene. Jones was not present when the shooting occurred.
On Monday, Jones was charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless conduct and first-degree cruelty to children. She is currently being held without bond at the Fulton County jail, with her first court appearance scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
Sincere Jordan was honor roll student which others describe as intelligent and helpful.
