Even though the game was suspended in the fifth inning due to weather, Freddie Freeman’s first action at third base offered some highlights at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Freeman joined the Gwinnett Braves Saturday against the Charlotte Knights and played third base for the first time. In two plate appearances he walked and struck out. In the field, he did get a chance to field his new position.
Batting left-handed, Charlotte shortstop Everth Cabrera sent a grounder with some spin on it toward Freeman at third. Freeman handled it and the throw to first base with ease.
