Rick and John had their weekly check in with Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer.

Coach Bud talked about their win in Philly and how well they were able to play in back-to-back games. Bud gave Dwight Howard props for his play and Kent Bazemore coming back off IR. He talked about his plan for Taurean Prince getting more time with the starters, possibly, but feels he will be a big part for them down the stretch.

Budenholzer said they are concerned with Bazemore’s knee and keeping him healthy. He talked about Millsap’s return and that he will get some time on the court Thursday to see where he is in his recovery.

The conversation shifted to Budenholzer talking about being able to get the young guys in the rotation as they near the playoffs and being able to have more bench support. Coach Bud mentioned Dennis Schroder and his turnovers and he mentioned he likes his guys playing with freedom, but sometimes it’s harder than it looks.

Coach Bud gave us his thoughts on what the Hawks need to do in Chicago to beat the Bulls Saturday in their house. And the Hawks’ coach said he has Gonzaga winning the Final Four.
