FULTON COUNTY, GA- A man accused in a human traffic case is due in court Thursday. Kenndric Roberts is scheduled for arraignment on several charges stemming from human trafficking and false imprisonment accusations by multiple women. On March 8 cops say they found eight women living with him in an upscale home in north Atlanta — with one of the women claiming she was threatened and held against her will. The call was placed to 911.
That woman — who said she’d traveled from Orlando, Florida, and turned 20 in November — called 911 on Tuesday morning from inside the home, leading to the man’s arrest, according to authorities. It’s unclear how long the women were living in the home, though the woman who called 911 said she’d been there for “about a month.”
Roberts faces multiple charges including five counts of trafficking persons for labor, and two counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
An AK-47 assault rifle and a Glock .45-caliber handgun were recovered in the investigation, police said. Roberts initially was charged with one count each of false imprisonment and human trafficking. Roberts was taken into custody and held without bail at the Fulton County Jail.
