The mother and grandmother of Deaundre Phillips gave a tearful call for justice as they discussed the incident that led to his being shot and killed by an Atlanta Police officer and the investigation into his death. Phillips was shot after being approached by two plainclothes detectives outside the public safety annex. Officers stated that they smelled marijuana coming from Phillips’ car, however no marijuana was found in the vehicle. Their attorney, Chris Stewart, joined the family in studio and stated that although the GBI is investigating the officer-involved shooting, the officer has not been suspended.
