ATLANTA, GA- An Atlanta man made a first court appearance Wednesday charged in a pit bull attack of a six year old boy who died on scene. Another child was also attacked and remains hospitalized. Cory Tucker was charged with reckless endangerment and involuntary manslaughter in the death of Logan Braatz, 6. The injured girl, identified as Syari Sanders, was listed as stable at a local hospital. A judge set Tucker’s bond at $70,000.

According to witness accounts, neighbors rushed to save the three children during the attack by a pit bull and border collie near Gideons Drive in southwest Atlanta as the children waited for the school bus.

The family of Logan Braatz released a statement that said in part:
“Logan was a wonderful little boy—energetic, happy, and full of joy. Logan simply made everyone around him a better person. Logan was a huge sports fan and loved the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs. He was described by his family as an “old soul” who even at the young age of 6 took care of everyone around him.”

  1. pit bull problems, as usual. very sorry this happened and there are groups like Dogsbite org who are trying to fix the pit bull problem.

  2. I’m surprised this pit bull owner is charged with a felony. They usually are only charged with “dog at large” and receive a city citation and no criminal charges. Then soon after they go out and get another pit bull dog.
