CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — A Carroll County man jailed in connection with the hot car death of his twin daughters was indicted Thursday. The twin toddlers died while sitting inside a hot SUV in early August, according to police.
Asa North, 24, was indicted on two counts of murder in the second degree, two counts of cruelty to children in the second degree and one count of possession of less than 1 oz. of marijuana.
Police said Ariel Roxanne and Alaynah Marianne North, both 15 months old, died after being left in their car seats in the back of their dad’s SUV. They were sitting outside of a Tillman Drive apartment. Outside temperatures were in the 90s. Emergency responders tried CPR.
But the unresponsive girls were soon declared dead at a nearby hospital.
