Top 5 Most Beautiful Female Athletes

Here’s a difficult one for you.  Name the Top 5 most beautiful female athletes in the world.  Not easy, huh?  And that is because there are so many, and, thanks to the Internet, they are on display as never before.  Notice I did not use the adjective “hottest.”  Some like to use the word “hot” when describing a gorgeous female, but to me, beautiful works just fine.

And, as they say:  “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”  So my Top 5 is probably different from yours, but still I hope you enjoy the list.  If not, you can always comment on Facebook or Twitter.

5.) Allison Stokke-Pole Vault

Stokke made her name as a track and field performer (pole vault) in high school and college.  She set many records for high school pole vaulting in the US and then went on to be a top performer for University of California, Berkeley.  She attempted to qualify for the 2012 London Summer Olympics, but did not do well in the U.S. Olympic Trials.  Her beauty made her somewhat of an internet sensation, which she shunned.  As a matter of fact, her beauty has driven her to be a better athlete because she wants to be seen as than more than a “sex symbol.”  She has recently become a sportswear model.

4.)  Skylar Diggins-WNBA

Diggins is a former high school star from South Bend where she was Indiana’s Miss Basketball as senior.  She had four great years at Notre Dame and, as an All-American point guard, helped the Irish to three straight Final Four appearances.   She has been in the WNBA since 2013 playing for both the Tulsa Shock and the Dallas Wings.  Her 2015 season was cut short with a torn ACL.  She is also a model for Nike and has been seen doing interviews for ESPN.

3.)  Maria Sharapova-Tennis

One of the great women tennis players of the past 15 year, Sharapova may not be the beauty now that she once was, but she is still one of the most alluring athletes ever to compete.  She has won all Grand Slam event titles and an Olympic silver medal.  Her recent admission to a controversial failing of a drug test at the 2016 Australian Open has led to a two-year ban and caused her to lose support of many fellow players, as well as many endorsements.  She has appeared as a model for Canon and Nike and was featured in a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.

2.)  Paige Spiranac-Golf

Spiranac, a member of the San Diego University Golf Team, got her fame from Instragram and her trick-shots videos, including (yes, I’ve seen it over and over) catching a golf ball in her cleavage, dropping it and hitting it down the fairway.  She has competed in two events on the Ladies European tour and won on the Cactus Tour (basically a women’s pro tour out west).  This week she will compete in her first LPGA Qualifying Tournament.  A good golfer?  Yeah, not bad.  An internet sensation?  Oh yeah.  A gorgeous female athlete?  You betcha!!

1.)  Sydney Leroux -Soccer

To me, there is no one female athlete more beautiful than the Canadian-born, Leroux.  She played at UCLA and was later allowed to play for the U.S. instead of Canada.  This resulted in much abuse from Canadian fans via Social Media over the past years.  She was a member of the U.S. Women’s team that won the gold at the 2015 London Olympics and the 2015 World Cup.  She is currently on the roster for FC Kansas City in the NWSL, but apparently is sitting out the season due to her pregnancy.  Two years ago, she became the first female endorser for the  BODYARMOR sports drink.
