The Morning Sports News: ’21 And Counting’

The Falcons open their preseason schedule tomorrow night against the Redskins and head into the game in relatively good shape with injuries.  Dan Quinn says no decision has been made on Keanu Neal for tomorrow night but his trunk injury is not serious.

Michael Phelps domination of Olympic swimming continues winning individual and relay gold medals Tuesday night to run his career total to 21 by far the most of anyone in history.  Hugh said “He is the epitome of the American Dream, to bounce back after some of the things he’s went thru.” Also Tuesday the US Women’s Gymnastics team won a gold medal.

A very good road trip for the Braves continued Tuesday night with another win 2-1 at Milwaukee to run their winning streak to four games.  Nick Markakis and Adonis Garcia both drove in runs. Tyrell Jenkins gave up three hits over six innings to take the win he has an ERA of one point oh over his last three starts.  Joel De La Cruz faces Chase Anderson tonight.
