DeKalb County, Ga.- A search for a stolen car with a child on board has ended with both found. Police confirmed the child is safe after being found in an abandoned vehicle at Wayfield Foods on Bouldercrest Road in DeKalb County.

DeKalb police had been searching for a car stolen with the 2-year-old girl inside since just before 11 am. Monday morning.

The vehicle was described as a white 2002 Nissan Altima that was stolen from a Shell gas station in the 3000 block of Flat Shoals Road.

The 2-year-old child was in the backseat of the car, according to police.

The vehicle was seen traveling west on Panthersville Road. Police say the mother of the child left the toddler in the car with the engine running while she went inside the store.
