We are all used to spending a fortune for food and drink at every sporting event we attend. And if you take the family with you? Forget about it.
This could not be further from the truth at the Atlanta Falcons Xfinity Training Camp in Flowery Branch, GA.
The bag of Falcons colored popcorn pictured above? $1.
Cotton candy? $1.
Hot dogs? Hamburgers? $1. And these are not wimpy little hotdogs or tiny little hamburgers. These are fire grilled big, hot, thick hot dogs with plenty of toppings and condiments. And the hamburgers are right off that same grill.
Wendy and Gary, from Dahlonega, GA said, “These are some of the best hot dogs we’ve ever had.” Twelve-year-old Bethany from Alpharetta, GA said she looks forward to these hamburgers every year.
Drinks? $1. Do not come out to Flowery Branch expecting lots of soft drinks to choose from, however. After all, this is an athletic event. You have bottled water and three flavors of Gatorade to choose from. But they are ice cold. And when the temperature is in the mid to upper 90’s each day, that’s what counts.
Seriously, just bring a handful of ones and you will be ok.
We were on site, broadcasting live from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Day 1 and I personally spent a total of $6.00. For the entire day.
So come out, bring the family, watch some football practice and eat for, well, peanuts.
Ironically, peanuts are the only thing I did not see for sale.
