Tonight the goal is to learn how to avoid the deadly confrontations of last week.
V-103 and WAOK are hosting a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. at Hillside International Chapel (2045 Cascade Rd.), where attorneys from the Davis Bozeman Law Firm will inform the audience of its rights as private citizens when interacting with police.
“Know Your Rights – Save Your Life,” Part Two, follows the police-involved deaths of Alton Sterling in Louisiana a week ago today; and Philando Castile less than 24 hours later in Minnesota.
In addition to Davis Bozeman Law Firm founder Mawuli Davis, participants will include Jarrod Grant (CEO & Founder of Learning, Technology & Leadership LLC and a member of Let Us Make Man); attorney Robert Smith (Smith & Hirsch, PL and assistant professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Tennessee State University); along with V-103 and WAOK personalities Ryan Cameron, Derrick Boazman, Big Tigger, Rashad Richey, Frank Ski, Keith Slaughter and Greg Street.
“There’s more to do than marching and protesting,” Boazman said while discussing the Sterling and Castile deaths on his daily program Too Much Truth. “Time for actions. Time for solutions.”
