Athletes React To Alton Sterling And Philando Castile Shootings

The last 24 hours have been rough for everyone. We continue to see this happen across the country and with the prevalence of social media it is in our face and brought to our attention instantly. In the case of Philando Castile, the aftermath was broadcast live on Facebook Live.

We will not include any of those videos on this page.

And as quickly as we can now see these incidents, we can also react.

Some say, “Wait! Get all of the details before we jump to a conclusion.” And maybe we should, but most of us cannot wait.

We take to Twitter, Facebook, Periscope, Facebook Live, etc to voice our opinions and let’s be honest, to vent.

And so do many professional athletes:

And Colin Kaepernick drew comparisons to a by-gone era with this Tweet:

Jaelen Strong said there’s “no justice in America” and that Independence Day means nothing to black people in this Tweet:

Chris Paul just asked for prayers:

Darnell Dockett said he’s prepred should the police pull him over:

Prince Amukamara, whom we spoke to at length two weeks ago, asked a simple question:

We have no answers.

We pray for the families of Alton and Philando.
