The Atlanta Falcons are getting set to open the Xfinity Training Camp in Flowery Branch on July 28th.
We are asking… and seeking answers to the top “2016 Falcons Burning Questions”.
Here are just a few… with notes.
@JohnFricke – ‘How major on an impact will Alex Mack make on the offensive line and will the Red Zone results dramatically improve”?
(*note – Falcons red zone TD efficiency fell to below 55% last year and into bottom half of NFL)
@BigHugh53 -“How good can this Falcons offense really be”?
(*note – Falcons finished 7th in total yards 5,990 and just 1 yd behind New England in NFL last season but only averaged 21.2 pts per game, which was tied w/ Houston for 21st)
@Squidbilly929 (Beau Morgan) – “Which Falcons rookie makes an immediate impact?”
(*note – The Falcons have not released a projected depth chart for this season. Ourlads.com is the leading web-based depth chart source and it projects Keanu Neal as the only rookie to break as a true starter).
@kickoffrock – “Has this offense taken the necessary steps to fix the dropped passes, fumbles by ALL, and INT’s!? Ball security HUGE!”
(*note – Falcons turnover margin last year was horrible -7, compared to NFL leader Panthers who were +20)
@dwico – “How severely Will the new rules for cut blocking affect the O-Line”?
(*note – 2016 NFL rule change: ‘No more chop blocks. Chop blocks are done in the NFL forever’. For clarity Kyle Shanahan teaches his dad’s cut block system and cut blocks are still legal blocks).
@chip_hendrix – “Where is the pass rush going to come from? They will never win unless they get a good pass rush”.
(*note – Falcons defense had 19 total sacks last season, last in the league. Denver led the NFL with 52).
