Classic car enthusiasts are gearing up for the highly anticipated, Thanksgiving tradition event! The Daytona Turkey Run, the largest classic car show and swap meet in the US, is a family friendly event for classic car lovers and their families. There is something for everyone! Car enthusiasts from across the US and internationally make their way to racing’s most celebrated location, the Daytona International Speedway.
The Daytona Turkey Run started in 1974 and held every Thanksgiving Weekend and the fourth weekend in March. Attendees at the 43rd Daytona Turkey Run will enjoy more than 6,000 vintage, classic, muscle cars, race cars and trucks for show and sale. The show also includes a massive swap meet, arts and crafts on Artisan Alley, food, free kids play zone and musical entertainment.
Check out the 2016 Daytona Turkey Run Dream Build, Grand Reveal on Thursday, November 24th as featured on South Beach Classics on the Velocity channel. Meet Courtney Hanson, automobile TV personality on Friday, November 25th. See the Black Beauty as featured in Green Hornet. See first-hand what it’s like to be in the middle of an auction in the Mecum Mobile Experience.
For the car show, The Turkey Run exclusively features cars made prior to 1980. They also accept all Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, Chargers, Challengers, Prowlers, Vipers, Foreign Exotics and Rat Rods, regardless of year of manufacture. There’s a little something for every motor-head out there.
The Turkey Run also goes beyond the pretty and shiny completed projects. Come find new and used auto parts, auto accessories, and auto related clothing, gifts and more at the massive Turkey Run swap meet. If you are a restorer, the Swap meet is often the only time all year you can find exactly what you need.
Every year, the Turkey Run also puts up a “Raffle Car” for one lucky winner to take home. The 2016 Raffle Car is a 1978 Corvette Pace Car with an L-48 V-8 and auto transmission. Still smells new!
In its history, more than $9 million of profits from the Daytona Turkey Run have funded charitable organizations as well as many local programs, projects and recreational facilities.
If you or someone you know is interested in exhibiting your classic car, selling your old hot rod or even displaying your art in the Artisan Alley, the event is open for public registration now. You can visit www.turkeyrun.com for more information.
