16-Year-Old Girl Killed By Stray Bullet That Entered Home

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say a 16-year-old girl was killed by a stray bullet that entered her home in College Park, southwest of Atlanta.

Police tell WXIA-TV that Rasheedah Evans was sitting on a couch inside a home on Harper Valley Drive when the bullet came through the wall and struck her on Saturday.

Investigators tell WSB-TV they believe the gunshot was the result of celebratory gunfire during the Fourth of July holiday weekend, and that the girl’s death was unintentional.

Police said they were seeking to question a man they described as a “person of interest” in the case. Police were also asking anyone with information about the case to contact CrimeStoppers.
