‘White Genocide’ Billboard Appears On Alabama Highway

The billboard alongside I-59 near Springville in St. Clair County reads “Diversity means chasing down the last white person” before including the social media hashtag for “white genocide,” AL.com reports. The billboard is similar to the Leeds sign posted in June 2013 reading, “Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white.”

Although within Birmingham city limits, Leeds Mayor David Miller denounced the “racist message” of the billboard. Both phrases on the signs are linked to the White Genocide Project, a group of white supremacist and separatist online activists.

The phrases are also derived from the creed known as the “Mantra,” which was written by segregationist Robert Whitaker in the mid-2000s, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The new “#whitegenocide” billboard is owned by Dyar Signs, according to AL.com, although no one with the company was available to comment on ownership.
