Republicans Win Big In Georgia Midterm Election

Georgia Republican supporters sent a clear message to Washington D.C. with major wins in the midterm election, “Voters are not happy with the policies of President Barack Obama.” Republicans won handily without a runoff in all of the major races. Senate candidate David Perdue beat Democrat Michelle Nunn by less than 10% of the vote. Perdue told his supporters, “I am ready for this responsibility.” He thanked Michelle Nunn and said she ran a good race.

Governor Nathan Deal won a second term in office with the same margin over Democrat Jason Carter, grandson of former Georgia Governor and President Jimmy Carter. Deal dedicated his win to the memory of Mack Burgess,  a 25-year-old up-and-coming GOP aide who died in a car crash last month.

One of the few democratic wins happened in the Fulton County Commission  District 7  race where incumbent John Eaves beat Republican  Earl Cooper.  The MARTA Referendum also won in Clayton County.
