Today on Real Talk with Rashad Richey, our special guest was Darling Thompson, a former employee of the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office. Thompson alleges in a lawsuit that the Sheriff made employees work on his campaign on county time.
Darling Thompson stated that throughout her four years of employment with the Sheriff’s Office, she regularly worked on campaign issues while a work. After current Dekalb County Sheriff, Jeffery Mann, took control, Thompson spoke out in regards to the misconduct. Thompson was fired as a result, for “causing disharmony in the workplace.”
Thompson also alleges in her suit that along with assisting with campaign issues, she was also forced to shop for groceries and clean the home of Xernia Fortson, her former direct supervisor.
