FAMU Hazing Trial Pushed To September

The trial of five defendants in the hazing murder of FAMU drum major Robert Champion of Decatur, Ga. has been pushed back to September.

At a hearing Monday, Judge Renee Roche agreed to push the trial back to give defense attorneys more time to prepare.

The trial was set to begin next week; but has been pushed back to September 22.

Fifteen former FAMU band members were charged with manslaughter and hazing back in November 2011 after allegedly killing Champion in the hazing incident. Seven members accepted plea deals in the case.
