Negative Images of African Americans in the Media

Today on Real Talk with Rashad Richey our special guests were former State Senator Steen Miles and the founder of Black on Purpose TV Michael Campbell. Senator Miles and Michael Campbell, joined Rashad Richey in his discussion of the negative images of African Americans in the media.

Unlike the glory days of the nineties, positive black television shows are a rarity today, as most major television networks have resulted to reality shows, most of which are filled with violence, explicit language, sex, and occasional drug use. Although many networks have cited low overhead as a reason for producing more reality shows, many have been scrutinized for their shows which show African Americans from a negative perspective.
