Georgia Voters Head to Polls for Primary Election

Today on the WAOK Morning Show, Joyce Little along with Yalanda Lattimore and Patricia Wilson-Smith asked how voters decide to vote for a particular candidate. Is it through research on that candidates policies, or are there other factors that play a role in selecting which candidate to cast their votes for.

Today is the long awaited election day in Georgia, in which voters will have the opportunity to select nominees for the state’s top positions in office. One of the races in which Georgia citizens will vote for today is for the State Senate Seat which was previously held by Saxby Chambliss. The vote for the former senator’s seat is being carefully watched as Republicans need his seat in efforts to regain control of the U.S. Senate.

Other notable races in today’s primary election include: Georgia Governor, State Schools Superintendent, and Dekalb County Sheriff.
