APS Safety and Security Director Updates Community on New Safety Measures

APS Chief Marquenta Sands Director of Safety & Security

Today on Real Talk with Rashad Richey our special guest was APS Chief Director of Safety and Security Marquenta Sands. Chief Sands stopped by Real Talk to update the community on the safety and security measures Atlanta Public Schools are taking in wake of the recent shooting near Therrell High School, and to ensure the public that APS schools are safe for all students.

Chief Sands stated that one measure that would go into effect for immediately is bookbags would no longer be allowed at schools for the remainder of the year. The final day of classes for Atlanta Public Schools is May 23.
