Today on Real Talk with Rashad Richey, our special guest was newly elected APS Superintendent Meria Carstarphen. After an extensive search for a new superintendent, the Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education unanimously approved the hiring of Dr. Meria Carstarphen as the new leader of the school system riddled in turmoil and controversy.

Although Carstarphen does not officially start her job as superintendent until July 7, she has been very active in the community and has made numerous appearances and has announced the changes she plans to make at the start of her tenure.

Due to her extremely busy schedule she was only able to spend a limited amount time with Rashad and the WAOK family however APS Chairman Courtney English also stopped by and was able to give listeners more information about the changes Meria Carstarphen plans to enact to revitalize the Atlanta Public School System.
