FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons added depth at running back, linebacker and cornerback in the NFL draft on Saturday.

Using a fourth-round pick on Florida State’s Devonta Freeman, the Falcons will try to revive the league’s worst rushing attack and provide an option behind starter Steven Jackson and primary backup Jacquizz Rodgers.

Atlanta chose linebackers Prince Shembo of Notre Dame early in the fourth round, Marquis Spruill of Syracuse late in the fifth and Yawin Smallwood of Connecticut and Tyler Starr of South Dakota both late in the seventh. Purdue cornerback Ricardo Allen was drafted early in the fifth round.

In the earlier rounds, Atlanta took Texas A&M offensive tackle Jake Matthews in the first round, Minnesota defensive end Ra’Shede Hageman in the second and Wisconsin free safety Dez Southward in the third.
