Last Friday night, April 18th, 2014, Georgia Tech held it’s annual Spring Game.
Now, let me preface this by saying that the weather was about as bad as it could have been for such an event.
Monsoon, pouring, heavy rains and just for good measure the temperature was in the 50’s and the wind chill was in the 40’s.
Sounds like great weather to sit in a stadium for a scrimmage that doesn’t count, right?
There were jokes on Twitter about the attendance and some even counted the people in photographs and put the approxiamte attendance at 117 people.
Georgia Tech spokesman says 117 spring game attendance figure is wrong – closer to 2,000. Most fans were in pavillon area because of weather

Some joked it was around 13 people (the exact number of fumbles in the game).

Paul Johnson, the head football coach at Tech said the conditions were “miserable”.
I’m sure Georgia Tech will get it together and have a pretty good season. I really hope they do.
And then they, and we, can put that Spring Game debacle behind us.
