Atlanta (WAOK)- Looking for work? Now is the time. Several companies are gearing up for job fairs which will bring more than a thousand jobs into the Atlanta metro area. One company NCR, the technology company that makes automatic teller machines is apparently in talks to open a major corporate complex in midtown Atlanta near Georgia Technology Institute. The facility could provide 1,000 jobs down the road.
Lockheed Martin in Marietta has also signed a deal to build 40 F-35 jet fighters for Korea which will mean another 700 jobs in the next couple of years.
The Georgia Department of Labor says it will help WalMart fill 175 jobs in a Suwanee store that opens in May. A job fair will be held on Monday at the WalMart recruitment center at 1675 Peachtree Parkway in Cumming. Walmart is looking for cashiers, sales associates, cart pushers and more.
The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency is also looking for qualified candidates for their upcoming career fair to fill over 50 open positions. The job fair is Friday at Georgia Piedmont Technical College at 495 North Indian Creek Drive from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Also, Friday the 13th Congressional Districts job fair at the Georgia International Convention Center will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in College Park. Representatives from Homesafe Georgia will also be there to help you save your home from foreclosure.
