NFL Will No Longer Allow Dunking On Goal Posts; Will Be A Penalty In 2014

Well, we’re pretty sure an incident that happened right here in the Georgia Dome was the reason this rule was written. The NFL owners meeting yielded this gem.
Dean Blandino told the Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday, March 25th, 2014 that using the corssbar as a “prop” will be illegal in 2014.
Blandino said, “That was grandfathered in. We put in a rule about five or six years ago about using the ball as a prop,” Blandino said. “We grandfathered in the Lambeau Leap and some things like that. But dunking will come out. Using the ball as a prop — or using any object as a prop, like the goal post or cross bar — that will come out and that will be a foul next season.”
The Falcons own Tony Gonzalez, known for his dunks on the crossbar, had inspired the Saints Jimmy Graham, who then did this in the Georgia Dome last year:

I’m sure the fact that the Falcons President and CEO Rich McKay is on the Competition Committee has nothing to do with this being a new rule.
Or does it?
What do you guys think? Good rule? Bad rule?
