HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Police say a Huntsville woman was shot in the chest by a small-caliber handgun she knocked off a shelf.
Al.com reports the woman was taken Sunday to Huntsville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The woman told police she was reaching for a candle holder on the top shelf of a closet when she knocked a .22-caliber revolver to the floor.
Police say the gun fired when it hit the ground and the bullet struck the woman in the chest.
