SPRINGFIELD, Ga. (CBS Atlanta/AP) — Members of one south Georgia community say an Andy Griffith-themed funeral was the best way to honor a well-loved pastor.

The First Baptist Church of Springfield held the funeral for Pastor Jeffrey Rollins on Wednesday. Rollins died in a car accident on Saturday. Springfield is about 25 miles northwest of Savannah.

A police car used in filming of “The Andy Griffith Show,” was parked in front of the church during Rollins’ funeral. A quote from the show’s main character was featured on the funeral program, and clip from the television show played during the ceremony.

Rollins’ friend, Jimmy McDuffie, told Morris News Service , “Jeff loved ‘Andy Griffith.’ I think he loved the easiness of it, the quietness. The way Effingham used to be years ago. It was a small community, a quiet community, it was a lot simpler times.”
