ATLANTA (AP) — Atlanta police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck and killed by cars on the city’s Downtown Connector.
Police say the man was killed around 10 p.m. Tuesday in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Williams Street.
Atlanta police Officer John Chafee says the preliminary investigation shows that the man was on the left shoulder of the southbound lanes and tried to cross those lanes. Police say he was struck by multiple vehicles and died on the freeway.
Authorities say two vehicles stopped and remained at the scene.
