ATLANTA (AP) — Atlanta city officials say they’re working with state and county officials to coordinate an joint emergency response plan ahead of a winter storm.

Officials say Atlanta’s Department of Public Works ensure that priority roads are passable as the storm moves into the area Tuesday.

Officials say the city has 65 spreaders and 60 snow plows at its disposal. Atlanta is also working with private contractors to make sure area roads are passable and city officials say they have 3,000 tons of de-icing materials on hand.

Crews are expected to start pre-treating roads Monday around 6 p.m. and are expected to work 12-hours rotational shifts Monday evening through Thursday.

City offices are expected to be open on Tuesday and officials are planning to open several warming station and emergency shelters.
