Kennesaw State University, by all accounts, really racked up on National Signing Day. For a school that hasn’t even played it’s first game yet, the Owls hats were very prominent at all of our National Signing Day events at Taco Macs across the Atlanta metro area.

Kennesaw State released a press release for us to share with you and here it is in it’s entirety:

KENNESAW, Ga. (February 5, 2014) –  Kennesaw State University made history on Wednesday (Feb. 5) when head coach Brian Bohannon announced the football program’s inaugural recruiting class during National Signing Day.

Bohannon and his staff’s recruiting efforts over the past 11 months paid off with the signing of 29 recruits, including the Georgia All-Classification Player of the Year and 14 all-state players representing the home state, Alabama and Tennessee.

The initial group of future Owls is comprised of eight defensive linemen, six defensive backs, five offensive linemen, three quarterbacks, three running backs, two wide receivers and two linebackers.

“This is a monumental day for Kennesaw State University,” Bohannon said. “This is another huge step in the process of building the football program and brings us one step closer to getting out onto the field and preparing for that first game in 2015.

“We are extremely excited about the group of players who have signed and made the commitment to become the foundation of the program and make history,” Bohannon added. “We accomplished a lot with this class and are looking forward to getting them on campus and start working with them.”

Kennesaw State made an immediate impact in the recruiting arena by landing Griffin High quarterback Jaquez Parks, who was named the Georgia All-Classification Player of the Year after leading the Bears to the Class 4A state championship. Parks turned in a recording-breaking performance against Carrollton in the title game as he amassed 554 total yards and accounted for five touchdowns in a 56-35 victory.

The Owls also inked quarterback Jake McKenzie who was named the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) Back of the Year after guiding Monroe Academy to the 3A state championship. Alcoa High defensive lineman Braylon Young was named the Tennessee 4A Defensive Player of the Year after helping Alcoa to the Class 3A state title.

South Paulding quarterback Chandler Burks made history as he became the program’s first verbal commitment when he announced his intention to attend Kennesaw State last June. He also is the Owls’ first signee.

The following is rundown of the entire class:
