Today we remember and recognize our fallen soldier Trayvon Martin. He would have been 19 years old on this fifth day of February, 2014 and we wish him a Happy Birthday. We send blessings to his family and friends. Unfortunately the memories of Martin and his birthday are short-lived; due to a potential “celebrity” boxing match between George Zimmerman and DMX. Not only is the fight a disgrace to all human kind, but it also brings unnecessary attention to a man who was found not guilty for murdering an innocent kid. DMX- a legendary rapper and known for his drug addiction, allegedly agreed to this foolishness and is preparing for a dragged out brawl between him and Zimmerman. Are they craving for attention and money for survival? As Zimmerman challenges “Famous Black Men” to fight him on the unfortunate behalf of the death of Trayvon Martin, he just may get what he is asking for. The voices of the radio waves agree that this nonsense of a fight should be banned and this is an inappropriate way to acknowledge Martin’s life. Instead of glorifying a “celebrity” boxing match, and making a mockery of Martin’s death we should celebrate his short life by sending love to his family. Why is a man who killed a Black kid considered a celebrity anyway? So today on Too Much Truth, DB asked his listeners how they felt about this “boxing match.” If you missed it, check out the clips below.
