As the fanfare slowly subsides from new Georgia Bulldogs Defensive Coordinator Jeremy Pruitt’s arrival in Athens this week, the full scope of the depth of the defensive rebuild at Georgia is starting to take shape.
There will be zero members of the Grantham coaching staff on the new Pruitt coaching staff.
Defensive Line coach Chris Wilson has taken the same position at USC. Don’t fret about this Bulldog fans, it’s the other USC, as in University Of Southern California, not the Gamecocks. Wilson is leaving Athens after only one year on the job.
Inside Linebackers coach Kirk Olivadotti is headed back to his previous employer, the Washington Redskins. He was there for a good 10 years prior to moving to Athens to coach the IL’s for Georgia back in 2011.
Pruitt is starting from scratch at Georgia. He’ll be building the entire defensive coaching staff fro the ground up.
For those Georgia fans that were disappointed in the defense for the last few years, this comes as welcome news.
What do you think? Is this the house cleaning that UGA needed?
