Starting Monday, January 13, Moral Monday’s will begin in Georgia. A movement in which activists from across the state will descend on the state capitol to protest for moral issues such as Medicaid, Unemployment Benefits, and legal issues.

Moral Monday’s began in the state of North Carolina over a year ago, in which protestors would hold weekly rallies outside of the state legislature in hopes of having some of the state’s “morally incorrect” policies reversed.

Moral Monday Georgia describe themselves as “a multiracial, multi-issue coalition of citizens working for positive change for the public good.”

During the first installment of Moral Mondays in Georgia, activists plan to gather during the legislative session to express their concern and displeasure with the state’s Republican-led legislature.
